Newsletter Easter 2008
He is Risen, He is Risen Indeed
Easter is not about our Easter finery, which can be a distraction, especially the little girls in all their frills and the fun of seeing them prance about in delight of how special they feel and look. The festivities can keep us from concentrating on the message of the wonder of the risen Lord and what that means for us. It is a day to rejoice that Christ conquered death so that all who believe in Him will have eternal life.
Pray for those who are trying to keep us from preaching the Word of truth which is the good news of His resurrection. We must be ready to lay down our lives for Christ’s sake. If he died for us we must be willing to walk in His shoes. No, we can never filll them, but we are called to do all that we can to show our love for Him and emulate His love for all people.
Years ago I told my sister that we are the sparrows of this world. We have an important job. It is to raise our children to live Godly lives and to teach them that there are consequences for our actions, good or bad. We are the ones that do the ordinary every day things, day in and day out. We are to do all we can for those that we come in contact with on a daily basis; to bring comfort and cheer into their lives so that they will be glad that they saw us. It may lead them to seek Christ in their lives.
As I write this I see Him in my spirit with tears in His eyes. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Him standing aside looking my way. This morning His eyes are sad. Oh, fall on your knees and ask Him what you must do to put a smile back into His eyes. We are fighting the forces of evil. The battle is heating up. We must win and we will win.
As I read the scriptures of how Paul suffered, not wavering, he fought the good fight bringing thousands to the saving grace of Jesus Christ. He didn’t know that he would still be doing it today with all his wonderful words and teachings that we read showing us how we must turn our lives to the Lord and be carriers of Christ’s love for all people. We don’t know how our lives have affected or will affect other lives in years to come. Let us rededicate our lives to serve the Lord. Let us say the sinners prayer together on this most Holy of days.
Say this prayer
Dear Lord I am a sinner
I don’t want to live this way any more
I ask you to forgive my sins (list them out loud)
I want you to be the ruler of my life
To live in my heart forever
To guide me in all righteousness
I thank you for coming into my heart
Please fill me with the Holy Spirit
And give me the gift of tongues, Amen
Read the Bible everyday. Start with the Book of John. Read the Psalms and the Book of Proverbs. Find a church that will not compromise God’s Word. Upon arising in the morning ask God to guard your mouth that you will only speak and do what He leads you to do.
You must ask to speak in tongues in order to receive this gift. It is a way of praying the perfect will of God for the situation. Satan cannot understand what you are saying so he can’t try to stop your prayer from being fulfilled. You can ask the Spirit to reveal the prayer to you. He sometimes gives someone the gift of tongues without them asking for he has a special purpose for them to fulfill.
Pray daily and whenever anyone or any situation comes to mind, for it may be the Holy Spirit rompting which may be for protection or wisdom needed at that very moment. God said, “If my people will turn to me in prayer, then I will answer them.” This is a spiritual battle that is being fought in the heavenly realm. Let us fight Satan with everything we have. Draw the battle lines and stand, using the armor of God as our weapon. We must be about breaking curses and casting out demons. They are many and they will not give up easily.
